Beading Divas to the Rescue is excited to be fundraising with Moon & Stars Animal Rescue. Moon & Stars is a 501(c)(3), non-Profit, all volunteer animal rescue organization serving Tucson and surrounding areas. They are dedicated to rescuing animals who are left homeless, orphaned, animals in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, animals given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. Here’s one of their stories:
Every story we tell about a rescued feline is a success story about Moon & Stars Cat Rescue. When my sister suddenly passed away, I knew that I wanted to do something important in her honor. Thus, Moon & Stars Animal Rescue was formed in January 2019. I knew it would not be an easy start, but nothing worthwhile is. We knew it would drain us physically, mentally, and financially for a bit, and it did. But because of our desire to save cats off the street and give them a better life, we endured.
One of our success stories has the name Petunia. Sweet Petunia came to us after spending a year on the streets. It took that long to find a rescue able to take her. Thank goodness it was us. Like most cats who come off the streets, she was skinny, unhealthy, and in need of resocialization. We discovered that Petunia was 12-13 years old and that she had been declawed. How she survived on the streets with no claws is a mystery. After being rescued, she grew stronger and healthier and got adopted into a home in which she is treated like a Queen. Now, at about 15 years old, she is living the best retirement life that any cat could ask for.
Thanks to all those who adopt a rescued cat and to those who continue to support us, we are able to give more cats and kittens loving homes. And a special thanks to Sis for giving me the drive and inspiration.
