Beading Divas to the Rescue is excited to be fundraising with Moon & Stars Animal Rescue. Moon & Stars is a 501(c)(3), non-Profit, all volunteer animal rescue organization serving Tucson and surrounding areas. They are dedicated to rescuing animals who are left homeless, orphaned, animals in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, animals given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. Here’s one of their stories:
In rescue you never know what you’ll be getting, especially when you take in a lot of TNR cats. (TNR stands for Trap, Neuter and Return.) Over the years we have taken in quite a few cats with stomatitis, which is an immune disorder where the body attacks their teeth and gums. This can’t be ignored because it leads to the cat not eating, losing weight and eventually dying. Once the teeth are removed and the cat is treated, it can go on to live a great, healthy life. This is Squeaker, the very first cat in this rescue. Squeaker had stomatitis and had to have most of her teeth out. She was adopted to a wonderful lady who loved her everyday until Squeaker passed away at 16 years old. This sweet girl will always be missed by us all.
