Beading Divas to the Rescue is excited to be fundraising with Moon & Stars Animal Rescue. Moon & Stars is a 501(c)(3), Non-Profit, all volunteer animal rescue organization serving Tucson and surrounding areas. They are dedicated to rescuing animals who are left homeless, orphaned, animals in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, animals given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. Here’s one of their favorite rescue stories, about a cat they named Hannah:
One day we got a call from a man who had taken a sweet Mama cat off the street, along with her three kittens. Hannah had a very large hernia, which the vet believed to be the result of a hard impact – most likely having been hit by a car. The kittens were in great shape after getting thoroughly vetted, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. All three went together to an amazing forever home.
For Hannah it was a different story. She was in rough shape. Her will to live must have come from knowing that she needed to care for her babies. Her surgery was difficult and it was touch and go for the first few days. We had to do constant monitoring, hand feeding and a lot of phone conversations with our Vet. Hannah recovered much more quickly than we could have imagined, and before long was ready for her new home, which she found soon after recovery. Hannah is one of many cats that we become very attached to and hate to see leave. But we love success stories like hers. It’s all thanks to people who support Moon & Stars Animal Rescue.
