Meet Whiskers, an Old Souls Rescue Cat Recovering from Loss

Whiskers is one of those souls who’s lived through quiet heartbreak. He suddenly lost his human, and then just days before arriving at Old Souls Animal Rescue in May of 2024, he lost his sibling too. The bonds he grew with his human and sibling, the routines he knew, the safety he had was all gone in an instant. Scared and confused, this 12-year-old had to start all over in a new environment. Slowly but surely, this sweet boy has come out of his shell and has shown himself to be the sweetest, most affectionate boy. He’s formed a beautiful bond with our mouser cat, Skadaddle, who he nuzzles up to and grooms frequently. He enjoys naps in office chairs or on laptops, phones, and other electronic devices, and once he’s comfortable with you, will give you a high-pitched meow when he wants treats or scratches. Whiskers may not have the loudest presence here, but his story speaks volumes about love, loss, and the quiet courage it takes to keep going.
