Beading Divas to the Rescue is excited to be fundraising with Old Souls Animal Rescue and Retirement Home in Marana, AZ. Old Souls is a Sanctuary for Geriatric, Special Needs, and Hospice Animals in the Sonoran Desert. Here is their first rescue story:
Vinny, just over a year old, is our youngest resident. He came to Old Souls Animal Rescue in February 2025 from Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) after he was found abandoned in a park with distemper. About 80% of puppies die from distemper, but this little warrior beat the odds! Though he has some neurological damage that causes him to twitch and affects the use of his front left leg, he runs and plays like a perfectly healthy dog. In fact, we were advised to leave him without a brace so that he could build strength on that front left leg, and he’s made excellent progress over the last couple of months! While he does have some puppy energy, he’s just as happy to curl up next to you or in your lap and LOVES a good belly rub. You’ll generally find him either wrestling with our livestock guardian, Eneko, or doting on our senior pug mix, Gracie – showing us a gentler side to him. He loves to groom her as she naps and has learned how to play gently with her, it’s been fun watching this unlikely pair build a beautiful bond!
You can help Old Souls save more deserving animals like Vinny by purchasing one-of-a-kind, handcrafted Beading Divas bracelets. Cost per bracelet is $20. Bracelets make great gifts any time of year!

The best selection is online via Etsy but in Tucson you can also buy bracelets at Fuchsia Spa in La Encantada Shopping Center, and Silver Sea Jewelry in the historic 4th Avenue Shopping District (Silver Sea is open Tuesday-Sunday from noon-6pm.)
