Beading Divas to the Rescue is excited to be fundraising with Old Souls Animal Rescue and Retirement Home in Marana, AZ. Old Souls is a Sanctuary for Geriatric, Special Needs, and Hospice Animals in the Sonoran Desert. Here is the story of a 15 year old dog they rescued:
Gracie is 15 years old, visually impaired, diabetic, and an absolute force of nature. She navigates life with more sass and resilience than most of us can muster on our best days. She arrived at Old Souls Animal Rescue in March 2025 after her family could no longer manage her care. She was dangerously underweight and urgently needing specialized care to manage her diabetes. Despite her health issues, she is a total character. She howls for attention, barges into rooms like she owns them, and demands snacks with the authority of someone who’s earned them (spoiler alert: she absolutely has earned them). She is very popular on our social media platforms and has amassed quite a lot of fans who love to keep up with her day-to-day life! Gracie requires around-the-clock care for her diabetes – regular glucose checks, insulin injections, and constant adjustments based on her behavior, appetite, and energy levels. Managing diabetes in a senior dog is no small task, but Gracie is proof that age does not dim spirit, and illness does not define worth. She is thriving with the care, love, comfort, and dignity every dog deserves!

You can help Old Souls save other deserving senior animals like Gracie by purchasing one-of-a-kind, handcrafted Beading Divas bracelets. Cost per bracelet is $20. Bracelets make great gifts any time of year!
The best selection is online via Etsy but in Tucson you can also buy bracelets at Fuchsia Spa in La Encantada Shopping Center, and Silver Sea Jewelry in the historic 4th Avenue Shopping District (Silver Sea is open Tuesday-Sunday from noon-6pm.)
