A Wonderful Ray of Hope!

Posted in Fundraising

October and November bracelet sales benefit No Kill Pima County. NKPC is working to end the needless killing of shelter animals in Tucson and Pima County through rigorous implementation of the No Kill Equation, a life saving alternative that replaces killing. Read more about NKPC here: https://www.nokillpimacounty.org/.

Hope’s dad lives on a fixed income with his two “furry friends.” He adopted them a couple of years ago from a neighbor who could no longer care for them, and they’ve been faithful companions ever since. “I have never experienced the type of love and loyalty that I do from Hope and Allie,” he said.

But one day, Hope stopped eating. She would only drink water and urinated far more often than usual. She became lethargic, and her dad stayed up all night holding her. The next morning, he got Hope to the vet who diagnosed her with pyometra – a serious infection of the uterus. She needed surgery, and fast – it might already be too late – but the estimate was more than he could afford. He started making calls, and No Kill Pima County answered. With additional assistance from PACC, NKPC got an urgent appointment set up at Santa Cruz Veterinary where surgery was performed successfully and Hope stayed for two nights to recover.

Recalling the day he picked Hope up from Santa Cruz, he said, “a very nice lady there expressed to me that by all accounts Hope should have passed from this dimension two days prior. That she, Hope, was one tough girl and her love for me and my love for her surely played a giant role in the scenario of Hope making it through. As well – throw NKPC and PACC into the mix of sustaining Hope’s life.”

I love my Beading Diva bracelets! I have several. They’re fun to wear everyday and your purchase is helping a non- profit that performs important work to care for and save animals. Being fairly knew to the area, I’ve also become aware of smaller non-profits I didn’t know about.Thank you Beading Divas to the Rescue!
