Our September-October fundraising partner is Southern Arizona Cat Rescue (SACR), a 501c3 non-profit cat rescue based in Tucson, AZ, helping at-risk cats and kittens in Southern Arizona. They are foster home based and completely volunteer run by a wide variety of cat lovers and advocates! Here is their story about kittens Pagani and El Camino:
Pagani was brought into a local Tucson shelter as a stray who had been on the streets with his eyes sealed shut by infection. They were swollen and oozing. We were asked to take him and we immediately said yes. We tried some medications but ultimately this boy needed both eyes removed for his comfort and already was learning life blind. He healed very well and since day one, Pagani was always so sweet and brave! He’s been adopted with his foster friend El Camino. She came to us from a very rural shelter near the border and was at risk. She who also was quite sick with an upper respiratory infection affecting her eyes and needed to have one of her eyes removed. She became Pagani’s seeing eye and we are so happy they could stay together!
You can help Southern Arizona Cat Rescue further their efforts by purchasing one of a kind Beading Divas bracelets. Cost per bracelet is $20. Bracelets make great gifts any time of year! The best selection is online via Etsy but in Tucson you can also buy bracelets at Hunter’s Kitten Lounge, Fuchsia Spa in La Encantada Shopping Center, Bark’n Berry Dog Ice Cream Parlor, and Silver Sea Jewelry in the historic 4th Avenue Shopping District (Silver Sea is open Tuesday-Sunday from noon-6pm.)
