Beading Divas May-June fundraising partner is HOPE Animal Shelter, Tucson’s first no-kill shelter and sanctuary for dogs and cats. HOPE’s life-saving mission is to reduce the suffering of homeless cats and dogs by providing them a compassionate, enriching environment, appropriate medical care and loving, permanent homes.
Meet Joey, a 12-year-old dog who has called HOPE his home for almost 8 years now! Joey has a hard time trusting new people and usually takes about a year to decide he likes someone. Because he isn’t comfortable with new people it isn’t possible to adopt him out. But despite his wariness, Joey is such a good boy and deserves as happy a life as possible. HOPE is his “furever” home, and he knows it! Joey has a bedroom sized room full of toys and beds and a roommate. He gets to go out for yard time and multiple walks every day. Once he trusts someone all he wants is love, and the staff that can handle him are only too happy to hang out and cuddle with him as much as he wants. He loves meeting and playing with the other dogs and going on car rides whenever he can!
