Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption is our Feb/March partner!

February and March bracelet sales benefit Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption. SA Greys is a Tucson-based, all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to finding loving forever homes for retired racing greyhounds in Southern Arizona. Since incorporation in 2012, they have placed hundreds of greyhounds in loving and qualified forever homes. Here is the story of two adopted greyhounds, now happily residing with Stephanie and Tim:

We decided to adopt a greyhound after Tim’s experience with a female greyhound named Terri. He was going to school at Purdue University to become a veterinarian, and had visited nursing homes with Terri to provide the elderly with some companionship. He told me how special greyhounds are! Lindie came into our lives in 2021. At first she was shy and wouldn’t come out of her cage much. After a couple months she started bark-talking and enjoying walks in the neighborhood. She is getting used to other dogs at the dog parks and loves walking in the desert. Lindie is a kind and insightful soul. Her personality is so infectious. She brings happiness to our lives daily. I can’t say enough about this precious dog. She naps in our bed or outside – the best porch dog anyone could wish for.

Four months after adopting Lindie, we decided to adopt another greyhound. He’s a male named Griffin. He had some issues to overcome initially, often hiding in the bedroom. He seemed moody and was hesitant to interact with us and Lindie. He has since blossomed and is a very happy dog. He wags his tail so fast back and forth that we worry it could go flying off his body. Griffin hangs out when we watch TV, chases Lindie in the mornings and digs holes in the backyard. He has a big appetite and adores Tim so much! They garden together and share a nap afterward. Griffin loves car rides and the dog park. He interacts with other dogs quite well and has lost that sad face we first met. He has brightened up knowing he is at his forever home. Lindie and Griffin are now like siblings. Both dogs have brought an overwhelming amount of joy to our household!
