February and March bracelet sales benefit Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption. SA Greys is a Tucson-based, all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to finding loving forever homes for retired racing greyhounds in Southern Arizona. Since incorporation in 2012, they have placed hundreds of greyhounds in loving and qualified forever homes. Here’s a beautiful story from adopters Kent and Carole Sue:
A chance encounter at my wife’s brother’s wedding inspired a new love affair. Much to our delight, as the couple exchanged their wedding vows, three gorgeous greyhounds stood regally next to them. For days afterward, we talked about the hounds’ physical beauty, gentle demeanor, and captivating presence among wedding attendees. It was a vivid memory we’ll never forget.
Upon retiring in 2014, we chose Marana to live out our golden years. After a while, our new lifestyle, while pleasurable and relaxing, lacked purposeful direction and relevance. As a possible panacea for my flagging sense of self-worth, my wife brought up “the wedding with the greyhounds” experience and suggested we look into the possibility of adopting hounds with Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption (SA Greys). It turned out that her suggestion gave our lives new meaning and purpose. After attending SA Greys’ “meet and greets,” we decided to adopt older female greyhounds. They, like us, have fewer years ahead of them than behind them, and we wanted to make sure their remaining years on this earth are as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
Since our lives with these wonderful companions began in 2015, our first three ladies, Prudence (Pru), Sadie and Mimi have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. We still miss them terribly. May their days always be sunny, their beds soft and clean and may they always be free to run like the wind. Because of SA Greys’ wonderful support, we have Romi, Hilda and Nipsey, now aged approximately 9-11. These girls came to us when their humans could no longer provide for them. Their presence and unconditional love make our lives complete. On a daily basis, the special bond we share with them shows that they do more for us than we could ever possibly do for them. For this precious gift, we will be eternally grateful.
You can help deserving animals like Romi, Hilda and Nipsey by purchasing one-of-a-kind, handcrafted Beading Divas bracelets.
Cost per bracelet is $20, with no tax. The bracelets make great gifts any time of year!
