Loren Dawn: The winds are changing

Loren Dawn and Mochi

Long time Board member, Loren Dawn, is stepping down while the Beading Divas wheels turn slowly during Covid-19. For the past few years Loren photographed the bracelets for Etsy. This is a task that requires good lighting and some photo editing skills. She also consistently shares the Beading Divas Facebook posts.

When not photographing, her interests include tinkering with the many plants in her yard and house, collecting rocks, enjoying nature and going to the ocean when she can. Loren’s travels take her to places far and wide as her curiosity spans indigenous people, waterfalls and eco-friendly adventures.

She also is a mixed media artist mainly working with abstract or symbolic images, using a wide range of materials and experimentation.
Her favorite activity with the Beading Divas was getting together to make bracelets with a rainbow of colors and shapes, knowing that they were going to help animals. Tucson CARES is the Beading Divas fundraising partner for May and June.
Pictured above with her 7 1/2 year old rescued greyhound Mochi (means sweet in Japanese) who likes to go for walks and sunbathe. Mochi has quite the outgoing personality and keeps Loren on her toes.
Loren hopes to see everyone again at the next bracelet making “bee” whenever that happens.
