For the month of October, Beading Divas is excited to be fundraising for Mostly Cockers and Poms, a Tucson-based 501c3 focused on Cocker Spaniels and Pomeranians. A small rescue, all their donations come from people like you.
Jenny came to Mostly Cockers and Poms from a shelter in California. She arrived at the shelter in the “night drop” and after her stray holding period became “urgent rescue only” due to a huge mass on her lower abdomen.
She was diagnosed as having a cancerous mammary tumor with very low probability of long term survival. MC&P rescued her and immediately took her to one of their vet care partners who determined that she did not in fact have a tumor, but, instead a hernia.
While good news, the surgery was still involved and risky. Just over $1,200 later, sweet Jenny was healed and adopted into a loving new home.
This is what rescue is about…saving lives and second chances.
