Beading Divas is excited to welcome Equine Voices as our fundraising partner for December. Equine Voices is home to horses and burros that were rescued from neglect, abuse, abandonment and slaughter.
The Sahuarita Mustang Family
Stallion Archangel Michael, mare Layla, colt Bam-Bam and foal Domingo are part of a wild mustang family that arrived at Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary in July 2018.
The Arizona Department of Agriculture rounded up these three horses and other strays in the Pima Mine Road area of Sahuarita. They were then hauled about two and half hours away to the Arizona Livestock Auction in Buckeye.
Equine Voices heard about it and quickly jumped on board to see what we could do. Equine Voices was able to not only save them, but to also keep this beautiful little family together.
After another long trailer ride back to Southern Arizona, they were finally able to peacefully rest and relax in the foothills of the Santa Rita Mountains. Layla gave birth to her new baby boy, Domingo on 9/2/18.
Stallion Archangel Michael was successfully gentled and gelded and our goal is reunification of the Sahuarita Mustang Family and eventual adoption as a family unit. Layla, Bam-Bam and Domingo have all been gentled and are easily handled and so friendly and inquisitive now.
Donations are needed to help fund the training and Michael’s gelding. Equine Voices is seeking sponsors to also help these mustangs live their best lives and be reunited.
