This story makes our heart sing.
Linkin is a relative youngster when it comes to retired greyhounds. Due to an underdeveloped right eye, he had never raced. SA Greys was able to acquire him from the dog farm at the age of 1 1/2. The vet quickly determined that his cornea had ruptured and he was suffering from a nasty infection. The bad eye was removed and the infection was treated successfully. He bounced back quickly and became a wonderful companion hound.
Come to A Decade of Divas Celebration on May 26. Funds raised on that day benefit Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption (SA Greys)
At first, he was timid and he relied on other dogs and humans to help him navigate. He loved his walks and preferred to keep in close contact with another dog. That need quickly subsided as he recovered from the surgery and gained confidence. He blossomed into a playful, friendly, and gentle boy.
Linkin enjoyed his time with his foster family and their three adopted greyhounds, especially the female hound who accompanied him everywhere like a protective big sister. His life became even better when he was adopted by an experienced greyhound family with three children and another female hound who could match his youthful energy. Now known as “Petey”, he is happy, busy, and full of life. He was popular at the SA Greys Spring Ice Cream Social where he canoodled with everybody on hand, especially those with scoops of ice cream!
