The following was submitted by a New Hope Cattle Dog of Arizona volunteer:
“I first met Winnie in the dark and late at night, and I couldn’t really see her. I had an impression of a sweet face and a skinny body that was wagging (yes her entire body was wagging!) but that was it. Winnie came to me for foster after she had been pulled from Pima Animal Care and Control with a severe case of kennel cough. It was so bad that at one point in time the people who originally pulled Winnie from PACC thought that she would die. But she was a tough little cattle dog, and she wasn’t going to let something like kennel cough get her down. The next morning, I was right about the sweet face. I fell in love immediately. Her forehead had a dent in it that just added to her cuteness. We figured that she had been a working dog at one point in time, but something had happened and she ended up fighting for her life at PACC.
Kudos to New Hope Cattle Dogs for all their hard work.
