February and March bracelet sales benefit Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption. SA Greys is a Tucson-based, all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to finding loving forever homes for retired racing greyhounds in Southern Arizona. Since incorporation in 2012, they have placed 665 greyhounds in loving and qualified forever homes. On average, it costs over $1100 for veterinary care, boarding, and training to prepare a greyhound for adoption. You can help by purchasing one-of-a-kind Beading Divas bracelets!
Here’s a lovely SA Greys story from adopter Phyllis:
Happy sweet Arlo came into our home a little over a year ago. He had been living with a couple who decided to have a baby, and Arlo just wasn’t ready for parenthood!
His new family is devoted to this wonderful, happy, prancing boy whose great joy is walking the neighborhood each morning, sniffing every clump of grass ー really every blade of grass and, of course, checking his p-mail. Sunbathing is high on his to-do list. In the evenings he sniffs around the block for anything that might have changed during the day. He loves “bark in the park” every weekend and sometimes shows his racing moves, though he hasn’t shown us his bark yet. … He’s the strong silent type.
You can help deserving hounds like Arlo by purchasing handcrafted Beading Divas bracelets.
Cost per bracelet is $20, with no tax. The bracelets make great gifts any time of year! The best selection is online via Etsy but in Tucson you can also buy bracelets at Fuchsia Spa in La Encantada Shopping Center and Silver Sea Jewelry, in the historic 4th Avenue Shopping District. Silver Sea is open Tuesday-Sunday from noon-6pm (masks and social distancing required.)
