Presley is a two year old Shar-Pei mix. She came to Hope of Deliverance rescue from Santa Cruz Animal Control, after their officers found her chained to a tree outside on a 100 degree day. Presley had an entropian eye, which caused a lot of infection. Gnats and flies that had been laying their eggs on her. Presley was emaciated and frail, and she had wounds with decomposing tissue. She would have died if Santa Cruz Animal Control had not found her. We’re so glad they reached out to us.
Presley had a long road to recovery, including her spay, two eye surgeries, and recuperating from malnutrition. We’re happy to report that she healed beautifully and found her forever home!
Hope of Deliverance is dedicated to being the voice for the voiceless by partnering with rural animal shelters, specifically those with low or no veterinary care available at the shelter, to save as many dogs as possible. Hope of Deliverance provides preventative care to these shelters, such as funding for vaccinations, microchips, and spay and neuter procedures directly at the shelter before adoption. We also care for the dogs we pull from the shelter who go into our foster homes. Our focus is on the over-populated shelters in Southern Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
