According to their website, Rescued Helpers Inc. provides services that aid both America’s Veterans who are disabled or retired. German Shepherds and Labradors are pulled from Kill Shelters nationwide and death row.
Rescued Helpers, Inc. is located in Tucson.
After they are safe, then the K-9 training begins. Once the K-9 has graduated, they will be paired with a veteran who needs assist dogs/therapy dogs/service dogs. Rescued Helpers also help the general community with German Shepherds as well.
Rescued Helpers serve those challenged with homelessness, near-homelessness and emotional, mental or physical limitations, including our Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder population.
We are waiting for some individual stories and photos so stay tuned.
In the meantime, you can buy bracelets to help out this deserving charity. Coiled bracelets cost $20 and are all one-of-a-kind made handmade with donated beads. Every bracelet comes with a paw charm to remind the wearer that the bracelet helps the animals. In the case of Rescued Helpers, the bracelet also helps the animals and the veterans.
You can buy bracelets at Silver Sea Jewelry located at 330 N. 4th Avenue (624-9954) in the 4th Avenue Shopping District or in the Northwest at Sissy’s Pet Grooming & Salon, 7350 N.
