Archer arrived at SAVER earlier this year as an owner surrender case. His previous owner had too many horses and not enough time to dedicate to him. Slightly neurotic and a bit underweight, Archer had a broken tooth which had caused a dental infection making it difficult for him to eat.
A week into his stay at SAVER, Archer developed a secondary infection from his broken tooth, became severely dehydrated, and was unable to regulate his own body temperature. During this infection, Archer’s temperature rose up to a high of 106 degrees. He required two weeks of IV fluids, pain medication, and cold baths 5-6 times a day.
Archer finally turned the corner and is now happier and healthier than ever. Archer has become a wonderful horse and was placed in his forever home last month. His new owners are able to give him the care and most of all the attention he deserves.
