Sundance: I was once an abandoned horse in the harsh Sonoran Desert

Sundance: before

Sundance: I am a handsome gelded palomino who was abandoned in the harsh Sonoran Desert, left without food or water.  I had cuts and scratches on my legs and face and lost so much weight which left my ribs and many other bones protruding from my only 800-pound body.  My back was full of deep, oozing sores from the hundreds of pounds of drugs that were left strapped to my body.

That is the condition I was in when the Border Patrol found me.

Arizona Livestock Department was contacted and thankfully a kind gentleman knew that if I was going to survive, I should go to Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary.  I arrived in May 2011 and my physical and emotional wounds were cared for; I began to thrive.

Sundance: now

I was adopted to a nice lady for a few years but that didn’t work out so I returned to Equine Voices.  I was lucky enough to find another loving home in which to begin a new life in 2017 and I remain there now, safe and happy.

The before photo is heartbreaking, but Sundance now is a beautiful boy! Thank you Equine Voices for all that you do.
