Beading Divas to the Rescue is happy to be kicking back during the month of July eating bon-bons and trying to stay cool in Tucson.

However, we thought you might like some news.

Everyone enjoy a good summer read and there’s nothing better than Dogtripping by author David Rosenfelt. In this mostly hilarious true story he and his wife moved from California to Maine with 25 rescued dogs. Be sure to check it out.

Got beads?

Thanks to everyone who continues to send us beads or drop off beads at Silver Sea Jewelry. We so appreciate all the community has done to help continue our mission of raising money for animal charities.

And while we are not selling bracelets during July, one of the Beading Divas – Michelle, has two Etsy sites (not associated with bracelet sales) for dog accessories and Chella Bella for yoga bags, eye glass cases, sleep masks, scarves & more. Check them out!

In other local news, there was horrible overcrowding at the county pound – Pima Animal Care Center. Too many dogs found as strays or returned and not enough foster homes or adoption. That means more euthanasia especially to older dogs and dogs who end up in sick bay. So if you considering adopting a dog — now is the time to do it. Adopt don’t shop! Check out some fabulous dogs at PACC.

Speaking of — No Kill Pima County is hosting a free community event on Saturday January 27 at Windmill Inn Suites from 6 to 8 pm. You can meet 20 rescue groups and learn about what their foster care needs are. More foster homes saves more lives. Think about it.

Here’s a happy FOREVER HOME story about Duchess.

And if you’re still reading, check out my newest favorite video by Tucson’s own Amber Norgaard…it will make your heart soar as well as the wonderful work by the Tucson Wildlife Center.
