Miss Maggie May made me whole again

On September 13, 2013 Miss Maggie May’s Rescue went to PACC to pick up Morgan who had 7 puppies less then 4 days old. When we got to the shelter there was a mix up and the shelter thought we were there to get Pipster who gave birth to 4 puppies the night before.

We found out that both moms came in together, so we took both families. Thirteen pups total on Friday the 13th of all days.

Once we got the moms settled into their new digs, is was apparent that something wasn’t right with Pipster’s left eye. The notes from the shelter said cloudy eye. We had it checked by one of our vets and there was no need to be alarmed at that time It was soon time to have Pipster spayed and we asked the vet to re- check her eye which was determined at that time her eye needed to be removed as it was starting to press on her nerve and would cause too many other problems if left in.
The next day when Pipster was picked up, the vet placed something in the transporter’s hand. It was a BB, Pipster was shot in the inside corner of her eye with a BB. So Pipster hung out in her foster home to recover and started attending adoption events.

Morgan was adopted in December 2013, but Pipster continued to wait and wait.

In March 2014 a couple saw Pipster and decided to give her a great home. Pipster is now Nikki and has two large buddies in her new home; she goes on long walks and from the reports we get — she is doing great.

Beading Divas to the Rescue loves these happy ending stories. Thank you to Miss Maggie May’s Rescue for all you do to help these dogs. It takes time, patience, and funds to make it happen.
