Downey required shoulder surgery

For the month of December, Beading Divas to the Rescue is jazzed to be raising funds for Jackie’s Fund for injured greyhounds under Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption.

Bracelet sales will specifically help pay for broken legs and other extraordinary veterinary costs as dogs transition from track to forever homes.

Jackie’s Fund Recipient
Downey had a dislocated shoulder and the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson popped it back into place. Wanda, proprietor of the Lazy Grey Ranch, took him to recover when the shoulder popped out again. So Downey had major shoulder surgery to hold the shoulder in place until scar tissue can build up and the shoulder can stay in place on its own.

Downey is a very tall and lanky boy. He is a true love who listens well, gets along with everyone and enjoys being in a home. He goes for his first post surgery check up next week. (Paws crossed)

The seven founding Beading Divas have deep roots to the greyhound rescue community with retired race dogs in their past, their present, their couch, and their future. Like most everyone under the SA Greys umbrella, we believe that retired racers deserve to live out their lives as beloved pets and want to provide these dogs with that opportunity.
